Dr.Veeranna D.K is currently working as Professor/ Director in Institute of Excellence in Management Science, Hubballi, Karnataka and also working as Honorary Secretary, Institution of Engineers (India), Belagavi Local Centre, Belagavi. He completed his Bachelors and Masters from B.V.B.College of Engineering and Technology, Hubballi, currently known as KLE Technological University, Hubballi. He holds two Master Degrees one. is M.Tech( Production Management and MBA (Systems) and two Doctoral Degrees one in the field of “Total Quality Management” from Anna University Chennai and another in the field of “Nano Composites” from VTU, Belagavi.
He worked in AICTE text book committee as a Lead Author for First Year Engineering Text book on “Workshop/Manufacturing Practices”, the same book is translated in 13 regional languages for the academic year 2021-2022. The Kannada language translation is also carried out by him. He coordinated the Mechanical Engineering Sciences for Technical Dictionary- in Kannada Regional Language by Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, and Karnataka as a part of the NEP-2020 initiative. Now he is translator in Kannada language for the second year engineering text book on “Introduction to Mechanical Engineering” by AICTE / VTU for the year 2022-23 as per NEP-2020.
Dr.Veeranna has 23 years of teaching and 10 years of research experience. He has published 44 Research papers in renowned International, National Journals and Conference Proceedings and one filed an Indian patent on six sigma application. His research work is globally recognized and cited in 22 publications all over the world. Currently he is guiding four research scholars. He worked in various capacities in different organizations staring from lecturer to Head of the Department, Dean Academics and Vice-Principal. He is active in both academic and administrative works. He his instrumental in organizing Student Projects/ Training / Seminar /Conferences / Faculty Development Programmes and Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs. Till today he carried out around 3.5 lakh worth funded projects from VTU, KSCST, VGST, Institute of Engineers and AICTE .He delivered many technical talks and invited lectures in various platforms. He received many awards and recognition’s, namely “Excellence Award-2021” from Institute of Engineers, Rajasthan State Centre, Jaipur, “Best Performer and Best Supporting College” LEAD cell, from Deshpande Foundation, Hubballi. “Project of the Year-2013-2014” from Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) and “Dr.S.Radhakrishna Award” on from Karnataka Pratibha Academy, Bangalore.
He is life member for various national and international professional bodies namely Technical Institute for Engineers (TIE),Society of Automotive Engineers India, Fellow Institute of Engineers(India), Tribology Society of India, International Association of Engineers(IAENG), Material Research Society of India (MRSI), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology(WASET),International Society for Research and Development.
He is reviewer for international journals namely Premier Publisher, USA, Public Science Framework, USA, International Journal of Emerging Technologies and Innovative Research(JETIR), International Journal of Creative Research Thoughts(IJCRT) India and International Journal of Current Engineering and Scientific Research (IJCESR) India
