Though students have more options after their graduation MBA has become one of the most preferred courses in recent years. MBA certainly enhances marketability as a professional and increases the quality and quantity of opportunities in the market. MBA improves decision-making and leadership skills.
Eligibility for MBA – Students with 50% marks in graduation are eligible to take admission along with a score card of any of the entrance tests like CMAT, CAT, MAT, etc. MBA Admissions in Karnataka State for Government seats are filled based on PGGCET Exams.
PGCET Test
Karnataka Examination Authority is authorized to conduct the entrance exam – PGCET for admission to the I year of MBA in Karnataka under the Government Quota category. Seat allotment will be done based on the ranking in the test. an MBA PGCET test will be in the afternoon from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm every year for 100 marks.
Eligibility
Candidate with 50% (45% in case of SC, ST & Cat I) score in the qualifying course (Degree) from recognized universities of a minimum of 3 years duration examination. Government seats are reserved only for Karnataka candidates.
The candidate should have studied in any of the recognized schools/colleges located in Karnataka for a minimum period of seven academic years to become eligible.

Candidates who are seeking admission to MBA under Government Quota have to produce the required original documents with one set of attested photocopies and two passport-size photographs for verification purposes at the KEA helpline.
About Entrance TEST
The PGCET Entrance Test will be held in one session separately for MBA for 120 minutes time for 100 questions. Questions are multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The question paper consists of 4 categories. Each category has 25 questions. The total marks for the test are 100.
Rank List
Based on the performance in the entrance test, candidates will be allotted ranks. Seat selection priority will be done based on rank.

Option Entry
- Option Entry will start after the receipt of the seat matrix from the Government. The details of the College wise, Course wise and Category wise seats available for allotment will be available the on KEA portal.
- Candidates are suggested to have print outa of a list of colleges in which he is willing to enroll for MBA / MCA
- The candidate whose documents are verified is eligible for option entry. The candidate has to choose the college of his choice from the seats available Candidates date can enter any number of colleges in the portal.
- Candidate has to enter the options for all disciplines line at once if he is eligible for MBA MCA M Tech etc.
- The candidate should note the name of the collage on a separate sheet of paper and enter the option to avoid mistakes.
- Candidates may have to check the Cut off Ranks before entering the options to get better information.
Seats available for the second round
- Un-allotted seats from the first round.
- Newly Added seats, if so.
- Canceled / Surrendered seats from colleges.
- Seats of Choice 3 and Choice 4.
- Choice 1 and 2 seats – Not paid the fees.
- Consequential Vacancies
Students have to take the right decision in choosing the right college. The right college will shape the right career for students. There are plenty of MBA colleges in India. Students should also consider the location & reputation of the college, Fees, placements, quality of teaching, alumni network, and other details. Students will make a normal mistake in choosing college as they have the influence of their friends and seniors.
